Project Kahurangi assets are licensed for royalty-free use in New Zealand-based non-commercial communication and campaigns. Approved organisations can use the imagery in perpetuity in their campaigns and communications related to ocean conservation.

Copyright – All imagery provided by Project Kahurangi remains the copyright of the creator.

License type – All imagery is licensed as royalty-free

License period – All imagery is licensed in perpetuity

License territory – All imagery is licensed for worldwide use

Exclusivity – All imagery is licensed as non-exclusive

Approved use – All imagery can only be used in campaigns and communications related to ocean conservation. No imagery can be used unlawfully.

Commercial use – Unless additional rights, licenses, and fees are negotiated with Project Kahurangi, all imagery provided is licensed for non-commercial use. Any commercial use will require a separate license and fee to be negotiated with Project Kahurangi.

Reselling– Buyers may not resell, relicense, sub-license, or redistribute imagery provided by Project Kahurangi.

Third-party use  – Imagery provided by Project Kahurangi may not be distributed to or used by third parties without negotiating a separate license 

Releases – Project Kahurangi gives no representations as to the suitability of images for intended uses. It is the responsibility of end users to ensure images have the relevant releases (model and property) for the intended use

Attribution – All images shall be attributed to: Project Kahurangi

Indemnity – Image users agree to indemnify Project Kahurangi from any legal actions arising from imagery provided by Project Kahurangi.
